Revival

What is revival?  When the Holy Spirit moves in this way, people are drawn to repentance and renewal in their lives, people are drawn to the lord, and we see such joy and praise that it cannot be contained. Those touched can’t keep quiet about what the Lord has done for them, so the revival spreads.

This past month I’ve been following the Asbury Revival in Kentucky and have enjoyed seeing how hungry the people there are for the Lord. Testimonies are coming out of changed lives and of joy so overwhelming that it is contagious just to behold.  I have found myself inspired, and with all that I am, I have found in myself a longing to see this revival come to our country and community as well.

What began in Asbury has spread to many places, and is touching millions. A praise and worship service took place in Time Square in New York City. Over five thousand people were in attendance. There is now news out of California that churches are coming together to rent large venues to host services of their own.

Is Canada prepared for revival to arrive?

Many of the revivals in history were birthed through prayer and repentance. People would come together and pray, preparing themselves for God to come in power. How badly do we want to see this come to pass ourselves?

In 2 Chronicles 7:14, we are given this promise: “If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I hear from heaven and forgive their sins and heal their land.”

So let us both intercede for all people in our land, but first, start with ourselves. Let us pray for the Spirit to come in full power. Let us pray for repentance for our sins and transgressions. Let us be faithful in interceding and then let us look forward to the moving of our God.
