Who We Are

MacGregor EMC is a small country church of about 100 regular members. We place a strong value on being welcoming, on community, on quality Bible-based preaching, and on always seeking after Jesus Christ in our lives, in the community and the world around us. We believe in helping others, we believe in always reaching out, and we believe in living a life that spreads Christ's Gospel of peace and love to our neighbours, whoever they may be. If you wish to find out more about our history, please check out this page on GAMEO. Otherwise, if you want to ask a specific question, you can always feel free to contact us. MacGregor EMC is a longstanding member of the Evangelical Mennonite Conference. If you want to see the statement of faith for both our church and our conference, just click the button below!

Our Pastor

Rev. Russell Doerksen, MDiv. was called to serve as lead pastor of MacGregor EMC in August of 2017. Pastor Russell is originally from the Interlake region of Manitoba, where he grew up on a Turkey Farm. He is a graduate of Providence University College, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration in 2007, and of Providence Theological Seminary, where he earned a Master of Divinity focusing on the Old Testament and Biblical Languages in the Spring of 2013.

Pastor Russell is married to his wife Shannon, an editor by trade, and together they have two little girls, Noelle and Mary, whom they love very much. In his spare time, Pastor Russell volunteers with the MacGregor Chamber of Commerce, where he is currently serving as President, as well as with the North Norfolk Childcare Centre, which hopes to have two daycares up and operational in MacGregor and Austin in the near future.
